What Financial Inclusion Usage Factors Between General and Specific Schemes Spur the Growth of Women-Owned Small and Medium Sized Enterprises in Cameroon?
摘要
Women have many ways to improve their life situations namely by being politicians, administrators in public organisations or by being business entrepreneurs creating Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs). This study focuses on this last method by examining what usage factors between women specific and general-based schemes increase the growth of women-owned SMEs in Cameroon. To achieve this objective, the study used a survey and cross-sectional design to collect data from 362 women-owned enterprises in Cameroon. This data was analysed using both PLS and OLS estimation techniques. The results obtained using both PLS and OLS showed that only the usage of Women-Based Specific and the General Scheme of financial services significantly boost the growth of Women-Owned Enterprises in Cameroon. This is not the case for General Business Support service schemes. Thus, based on the above, we suggest that owners and managers of these enterprises should use more women-based specific and general financial services schemes to ensure the growth of their enterprises in Cameroon.
