Advancing Sport Management in the GCC: Assessing Public–Private Partnerships, Technological Integration, and Women’s Participation
摘要
This paper examines the overall development of the sports industry in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region and focuses on three specific components. The first one examines the implications of public–private partnerships (PPPs) on the advancement and improvement of sports facilities, particularly from the relationship between the public and private sectors. This is not only an effort to make financing accessible but also promotes innovation and project efficiency. The second part involves a look into the role that technology is playing in reshaping the GCC sports market and how it impacts the performance of athletes and the engagement of fans. Innovations in the field of sports are changing the way people train and enhancing the experience for fans. Finally, the enormous increase of women participating in sports is explored to assess its implications for social attitudes and gender roles in the GCC states. This is leading to a broader sense of inclusion despite the established norms and ultimately driving social change. The insights from the study have implications not only for regional stakeholders but for broader, international, sports management communities seeking to comprehend how sports practices evolve and grow within the specific regnal contexts.
