Impact of Organizational Culture on Strategic Management Process in Nigerian Energy Industry: Case Study of a Multinational Oil Company

A multinational company based in Nigeria was the research's case study. It investigated how Organizational culture shapes strategic management process in the Nigerian energy industry. The research design employed was a descriptive survey, with 112 randomly chosen participants. A questionnaire adapted from the Association Management, Consulting and Evaluation Services’ questionnaire for Strategic Management and the OCAI was administered to the respondents. Adhocracy, Clan, and Market cultures have positively significant impact on formulation of strategy in the Nigerian energy industry while hierarchical culture has negatively insignificant effect on strategy formulation in the energy industry. The Nigerian energy industry’s strategic management are significantly shaped by organizational culture, according to the research’s findings. The study recommends a reduction in centralised decision making, increased employee empowerment and focus on team achievement in that Nigerian energy companies to improve outcome of strategy formulation.
