The objective of this paper is to examine current trends in online delivery services (ODS) by identifying gaps in the study’s focus, methodology, and research scope, while also suggesting directions for future studies. This research aims to provide awareness that can contribute to the expansion of academic work, particularly in the field of ODS. Typically, studies on ODS have primarily focused on system development, technology, and customer-related aspects such as behaviour, motivation, knowledge, satisfaction, and value strategies. It has been observed that most of these studies rely on quantitative methods rather than qualitative or mixed-method approaches. Therefore, this study employs a thematic analysis of 27 selected articles to address this imbalance. The findings indicate that research exploring online delivery services within the context of entrepreneurship remains limited. Additionally, previous studies have often been published in lower-ranking journals rather than high-impact ones. Future research on ODS should expand to underexplored regions, adopt mixed-method and qualitative approaches, investigate emerging technologies, compare ODS models across different markets and explore consumer trust, sustainability, and business model innovations to offer a deeper insight into the evolving industry. This systematic review aims to enhance readers’ understanding of ODS, particularly in relation to entrepreneurial phenomena.

摘要
