The future depends on children. Hence, children’s education is not only essential, but it is also compulsory. This is well established in the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. On the other hand, using AI is inevitable, and its uses would influence every human activity. Therefore, this research investigates how AI has been used in children’s education. Using a systematic review of papers published between January 2020 and 2025. This research found that AI has been used to develop pedagogy and skills for children. The findings also present key areas where AI has been applied in children’s education as well as the benefits, challenges, and opportunities of using AI. This article suggests important areas for further studies on the uses of AI in children’s education. Thus, the article provides insight for educators, researchers, and policymakers.
