This chapter presents the concepts at the base ofDual-usedual-use technologiesDual-use technologies: Some examples of technologies that have changed social life after they entered common life, but which revealed harmful effects that occurred in several fields, that is, after being used in improper, sometimes even illegal ways. It all starts with the discovery of how to light a fire, moves on to technologies such as the use of dynamite, and arrives at the most modern technologies shared with the public: for example, 5G, satellites, AI, etc. The study then briefly mentions technologies, often of military origin, that have not been shared with the public and can be used for purposes that benefit only a single elite. Some images testify to the pathological impact on human bodies.
