In this chapter, a brief overview of humanism is provided together with a selection of work that could be considered humanistic. This work and authors, or PTAs, emerged as a direct result of working in education or have been transferred from other fields to education. They offer insights into the varying aspects of humanism and how the application of humanistic approaches to education can result in positive results for learners.
