This chapter focuses on the versatility of the EE degree. I started my career in digital design creating circuit board designs and FPGAs for satellite systems and radar signal processors. I also wrote firmware for the signal processors. I then moved into embedded systems, writing diagnostic software for these signal processor and other hardware systems. My ability to effectively lead teams to deliver value to customers landed me a manager role for middleware development and then command and control application development. I then led the department for command and control systems engineer with teams in NJ, VA, and WI. I then moved back to a purely technical role creating requirements for a cockpit training system and the design of the physical space for the systems including network and electrical and power layout. Drawing from my experience in software engineering, I became an Agile Coach and taught students both in person and virtually throughout the United States. I led a team to design, development, and integration of weapons control systems for the U.S. Navy and ally countries. In my current role, I lead the development of cutting edge technology through research and development of both customer-funded and company-funded projects.
