The Gnostic-American Mind
摘要
This chapter discusses the effect which the disclosure of “plausible deniability” has had on the cultural and political imagination, not least of all in the development of conspiracy culture as a dominant mode. The American imagination, we argue, is rendered by the dissonance between lived experience and official narratives regarding economic policies. In the void opened appear conspiracy theories, which tend not to present a meaningful economic aspect or analysis.
