In this study, we investigated the potential ofDi-n-octyl sulfide Di-n-octyl sulfideSulfide (C16H34S, DOS), a component of thioether (R1-S-R2) compound, as a selective collectorCollector for the flotationFlotation of arsenicArsenic-bearing copperCopper minerals from copper sulfide mineralsCopper sulfide minerals. FlotationFlotation tests were conducted to evaluate the effect of various conditions, including collectorCollector and depressant dosage on the selective separation of arsenicArsenic-bearing copperCopper minerals from arsenicArsenic contained copper concentrateCopper concentrate. The batch flotationFlotation test results indicated that the optimal condition for maximum separation efficiencyEfficiency between arsenicArsenic-bearing copperCopper minerals and non-arsenicArsenic copperCopper minerals was 50.3%. Moreover, the best test result in the rougher and cleaner flotationFlotation showed that 90% of arsenicArsenic-bearing copperCopper minerals were removed from copper concentrateCopper concentrate and arsenicArsenic gradeGrade was reduced from the initial 1.30 to 0.20%.
