Weather conditions and sowing methods are key aspects affecting wheat productivity. This study was conducted over two consecutive growing seasons to investigate the impact of sowing methods on the morpho-yield performance of wheat cultivars under diverse ecological conditions, using Arid (Tandojam, Sindh) and Semi-arid (Quetta, Balochistan) as experimental sites. Six wheat cultivars were sown using broadcast, furrow, and drilling methods. The crop response to environmental conditions showed that the grain yield was 3642 kg ha−1 at Tandojam and 3809 kg ha−1 at Quetta sites. Among the various sowing methods, the furrow method proved to be more effective and efficient than the broadcast and drilling methods, with optimal agronomic observations. The maximum grain yield of 3905 kg ha−1 was observed under the furrow sowing method. The varietal performance, based on grain yield per hectare, was superior in the cultivar Mehran-89, with a grain yield of 4110 kg ha−1. Hence, the furrow sowing method, along with site-specific wheat cultivars, is the best crop management practice for achieving maximum wheat growth and yield.
