The purpose of this chapter is to review the new commercially available posterior chamber phakic intraocular lens, EVO Viva ICL, with Aspheric EDOF Optic. A review of the design concept, indications, contraindications, clinical trial outcomes, and clinical experience is provided. Study results at 6 months demonstrated improvements in both monocular and binocular uncorrected distance, intermediate, and near visual acuities compared to preoperative values. Defocus curve testing demonstrated an improvement in the range of functional vision after Viva surgery. Monocular and binocular contrast sensitivity under four light conditions demonstrated preservation of functional vision, and 91.2% of patients were satisfied with their vision. Patient selection and future applications are also discussed.

摘要
