The Lentis Comfort MF15® optic by Teleon Surgical® is a refractive lens design creating an extended depth of focus embracing +1.5 D near addition. By using a refractive optic, the typical side effects of diffractive intraocular (IOL) such as dysphotopsia and loss of contrast sensitivity can be diminished. The Lentis Comfort MF15® shows flexibility and promising results regarding a blended vision strategy with an emmetropic target in the dominant and a myopic target of −1.5 D in the non-dominant eye. As these results show patients achieve similar binocular visual outcomes compared to binocular multifocal IOL (MIOL) implantation without the visual side effects such as dysphotopsia and with a better contrast sensitivity than MIOL especially under mesopic conditions.
