Character Strengths Use and Human Flourishing in Adolescence and Youth
摘要
The chapter examines the relationship between the use of character strengths and human flourishing in Mexican university students. Conducted with 7407 students from Universidad Tecmilenio, this correlational study utilized validated instruments, such as Diener’s Human Flourishing Scale and a brief version of the Strengths Use Scale adapted to Spanish. The findings reveal that students who more frequently use their strengths report higher levels of human flourishing. The study highlights gender differences: women excel in the use of vitality, while men show higher performance in creativity and leadership. This underscores the importance of considering cultural and demographic factors when fostering strengths. It concludes that promoting the conscious use of strengths in educational contexts could enhance students’ overall well-being. The study recommends exploring this relationship in other cultural and workplace settings, as well as developing personalized programs to maximize the impact of specific strengths. This approach could transform education and contribute to healthier and more prosperous societies.
