Ureteroscopy is one of the most commonly performed endourological procedures and all urologists should be familiar with indications, equipment and technique. Continuous technological advances permitted the adoption of several technologies for ureteroscopy such as flexible, digital and single-use ureterscopes in contrast with the originally used ones, which were rigid/ semi-rigid, fiber-optic and reusable. Urologist should also be familiar with auxiliary equipment such as forceps/baskets, laser types, ureteral access sheaths, types of stents, guidewires, balloons for ureteral dilatation, irrigation devices and suction devices. In this chapter, we aim to provide a comprehensive overview of indications, equipment and technical steps for ureteroscopy.
