The current technological evolution, impacting all spheres of human development, has highlighted the limitations of university curricula, especially in engineering. These limitations hinder the integration of more holistic, versatile, and applicable visions, resulting in outdated competencies and a gap between university and society. This study proposes formative experiences to address these issues by applying CAD/CAM/CAE tools in Mechanical and Civil Engineering programs. The didactic approach used is described in detail, covering its methodology, objectives, structures, dynamics, and limitations related to computer-aided technologies (CAD/CAM/CAE). The design process of the selected course programs for intervention is detailed, along with the qualitative and quantitative results obtained. Additionally, the experiences gained by the teaching team in solving the proposed problems using CAD/CAM/CAE tools and their impact on the professional performance of graduates are considered. This study emphasizes the importance of updating university curricula to bridge the gap between academic training and labor market demands, ensuring that graduates are better prepared to face contemporary technological challenges.
