A Look from a Gender Perspective at the Entrepreneurship of the Migrant Returnee in Tamaulipas, Mexico
摘要
Migration is a phenomenon present in the history of mankind; therefore, its study is of interest to the social sciences. Within the literature, there is interest in studying the effect that migrants who return to their place of origin have, especially to analyze the effect they have in those places, therefore, the present research establishes as an objective to analyze the probability that a migrant woman returning to the country undertakes in Tamaulipas. To achieve this, it used the 2020 Population and Housing Census in Tamaulipas, with a database of 174,924 subjects with some kind of work activity. The results of the statistical study show that returned migrants have a greater propensity to undertake; on the other hand, returned migrant women show a decrease in this probability, which is evidence of a gender gap in terms of the labor insertion of these people who decide to return to their place of origin.
