Data Integration Challenges in AI-Infused Healthcare Metaverse

The healthcare metaverse, powered by artificial intelligence (AI), is revolutionizing healthcare delivery services by integrating data from different sources such as electronic health records, wearable devices, medical imaging, and Internet of Things (IoT) systems. This integration encourages immersive, real-time, and personalized patient care while improving diagnostics and operational competence. Nevertheless, significant obstacles hinder progress of this setup, which includes technical obstacles like interoperability and real-time data processing, ethical concerns surrounding privacy and bias, and organizational and societal resistance. This chapter delved into the critical aspects of data integration within the healthcare metaverse, stress the evolving technological revolutions, ethical frameworks, and successful implementation strategies that address these challenges. It talked about the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration in the establishment of a reliable, inclusive, and scalable ecosystem for the metaverse that actually uplifts global health care.
