Through cyber enhancement employing artificial intelligence (AI) and intelligence amplification (IA), transhumanists—transhumanism is also known as Humanity Plus or H+—look forward to superintelligence and a posthuman species living in a techno-utopia. Might this resemble in any way the biblical promise of transformation of the Old Adam into the New Adam? Might cyber enhancement contribute to spiritual transformation understood in terms of sanctification or deification? Even though H+ prizes intelligence and followers of Jesus value love, might there still be any overlap between human flourishing as envisioned by transhumanists and by Christian theologians?
