The experiences of vulnerable Black Women (BW) across the Criminal Justice (CJS) are seldom presented within conventional Criminology literature, pedagogy, and practice, hence them being propelled to develop their own digital spaces, other platforms or present their own counter-narratives (Taylor and Abidin, 2024; Akhabau, 2017). This chapter is intentionally concise, drawing upon existing knowledge, theoretical frameworks, and research to contribute to the ever-growing discourse on vulnerable BW’s challenges in the CJS. Through a unique overview of victims, employees, and those with offending histories, experiences, the chapter provides practical guidance on how practitioners and individuals teaching around the theme could potentially adapt their practices. The authors’ hopes are that practitioners and academics alike with vested interests in the subject, find solace in the chapter and identify innovative approaches to adopt in their environments, ensuring the negative experiences of vulnerable BW are minimised.
