A Cluster Approach to Monitoring the Mercury Content in Lithosediments in the Rostov Region
摘要
The article presents the results of a study of mercury distribution in soils and bottom sediments of the Rostov region, conducted using a cluster approach. Three monitoring clusters have been identified: the Azov, Shakhtinsko-Novocherkassky and Tsimlyansky, each of which is characterized by different natural conditions and the level of anthropogenic load. During the study, mercury concentrations in soils and bottom sediments were analyzed, and concentration coefficients (Cс) and bottom accumulation coefficients (BAC) were calculated. The authors note the presence of chronic pollution in the Shakhtinsko-Novocherkassk cluster and the arrival of fresh pollution in the Tsimlyansk cluster. The sediments of all three clusters belong to the low and medium range of exposure.
