Anxiety disorders (ADs) are frequently observed during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Managing ADs poses a significant challenge due to concerns about the safety of the fetus and breastfed infants. Unfortunately, no randomized controlled studies have evaluated the treatment of ADs during the perinatal period. This chapter aims to outline the risks associated with untreated ADs during the perinatal period and to provide recommendations for their pharmacological treatment.
