Max Planck: Towards a Quantum Understanding of Heat
摘要
Max Planck[aut]Planck, Max (1858-1947) was one of the greatest scientists of all time. He both made major contributions to the understanding of heat and fully understood all the work of his contemporaries and prior workers. This chapter considers both his work on Thermodynamics and his derivation of the spectrum of Blackbody radiationBlackbody radiation. He lived at a time when the understanding of the particle of electric charge, the electron, was rapidly evolving. He received the Nobel Prize in 1918 for his contributions to the concept of physical quanta of energy.
