Core Therapeutic Techniques
摘要
Young children have many fearsfears. They have fears of the dark, of monsters under the bed, of being separated from their parents, and of doctors and injections. Older children and teenagers have fears of being alone, being teased, fears of embarrassment and failure, and fears about the future. When children share their fears, many parents admonish them and say, “Don’t be silly.” Children are dependent on their parents, and most children do not want to upset their parents, so they often hide their fears from their parents. Good therapy is about helping children to bring their fears out in the open by being non-judgemental, listening well, and asking good questions.
