Argentina’s pursuit of climate resilience requires accelerating its transition to efficient energy management—especially within under-resourced urban areas. This chapter examines how a behavioral approach can shed light on the complexities of energy efficiency in informal settlements in Buenos Aires (CABA), where poverty, housing quality, and cultural norms intersect. By investigating the practices and architectural choices that shape energy use, our study highlights the critical role that behavioral insights can play in enhancing both living conditions and climate adaptation. We integrate these findings into a holistic framework—one that fuses urban planning with behavioral economics—to inform policymakers on strategies for reducing emissions and increasing energy savings. To contextualize Argentina’s challenges, we draw on international case studies, offering a comparative lens that underscores the broader implications for Latin America. Ultimately, this chapter seeks to narrow the literature gap and guide future policies, ensuring that energy efficiency and climate adaptation work hand in hand to promote inclusive development.

摘要
