BIM Technologies in the Construction Industry as a Key Factor in Increasing Efficiency

The construction industry is a low-innovation sector. Advanced technologies can have a positive impact on the quality of work. Leading companies in the industry are struggling with low profitability by investing heavily in new technologies, data analysis methods, robotics and artificial intelligence. If construction companies want to achieve higher profits, they need to be proactive in project management, improve supply chain management, simplify and modernize construction and support processes. For these reasons, this work is devoted to the relevance of implementing building information modeling (BIM) technologies. In practice, BIM methods are now mainly used in the planning and preparation of construction projects. In addition to technical and IT subject areas, the potential of BIM as a methodology for integrated planning and collaboration is demonstrated. Therefore, in the context of working with BIM technology, there is an addendum that includes general questions about the methodology of work, entrepreneurial thinking and understanding of roles. Thus, the purpose of this contribution is to theoretically substantiate the importance of BIM technology as a factor in increasing the efficiency of construction projects, as well as to develop practical recommendations for its application. This is not about formulating fixed operational recommendations for action, but about certain standards that can be easily transferred to a specific construction project.
