This chapter outlines how it is possible to obtain near normal shoulder function after permanent loss of axillary nerve function with complete deltoid atrophy. The anatomy of the axillary nerve is outlined. An explanation of how a full range of shoulder movement is possible in the presence of a complete axillary nerve lesion is suggested.
