The digital economy’s exponential growth transcends sectoral boundaries, reshaping industrial interdependencies and developmental trajectories. This study investigates how digital economic advancement modulates synergistic dynamics between cross-border e-commerce and logistics systems, revealing statistically significant yet heterogeneous inter-sectoral effects. Methodologically, the digital economy is conceptualized through four dimensions: infrastructure development, digital industrialization, industrial digitization, and innovation ecosystems. Regression analyses demonstrate divergent impacts: digital innovation enhances synergy (β = 0.68, p < 0.09), whereas industrialization (β = -0.69, p < 0.09) and digital application (β = -0.26, p < 0.005) exhibit inhibitory effects. Digital infrastructure shows no statistical significance (β = 0.03, p = 0.61). The asymmetric influence patterns underscore dualistic digital economy impacts. While innovation drives collaboration, premature industrialization may disrupt existing value chains. Policy frameworks must therefore adopt bifurcated strategies: incentivizing R&D consortia to amplify innovation spillovers while establishing transitional subsidies to mitigate digitization-induced coordination costs. Theoretical contributions lie in deconstructing paradoxical digitalization outcomes within trade-logistics ecosystems. Practically, harmonizing infrastructure standardization with adaptive governance mechanisms emerges as critical for sustainable cross-industry integration in global digital markets.
