How Social TV Affects Audience Behavior: A Review

The study aims to provide a systematic review of previous research related to social TV and its impact on audience behavior. The study seeks to analyze research trends, theories used, and key findings in this field. The systematic literature review methodology was used to analyze published articles and studies, where data was collected from accredited academic databases. The results of the study showed that social TV contributes to increasing interaction with television content through audience comments on social media while watching. X and Instagram platform are considered among the most used platforms to enhance this interaction. Social TV also encourages building stronger relationships between audiences and television programs through continuous and direct interaction. Studies have also shown that social TV can encourage the adoption of new behaviors or the discussion of social and political issues. Thus, social TV shows an increasing impact on audience behavior by enhancing immediate interaction and collective participation. However, more research is still needed to understand the psychological and social aspects associated with this field.
