As an increasing proportion of young people continue to face experiences of disadvantage, social exclusion, and criminalisation within marginalised spaces across the UK, the need for therapeutic and rehabilitative youth work intervention that hinges on individual and community development has become imperative. The chapter explores the emergence of cultural capital in this context, positioned as directly acquired for participants through the generation of practical and relational skills through music production workshops, whilst also naturally constructed through the formation of ideological narratives present in participants’ music.
