Digitalization Level and Spatial Effects Evaluation in Regional Manufacturing Industry: A Case Study of Guangdong Province in China
摘要
Digital economy has been an important engine for economic development, and digital transformation of enterprises is an inevitable trend. This paper constructs a three-dimensional evaluation system from digital technology support, digital innovation application, and digital sustainable development. Using TOPSIS entropy weight method and obstacle degree model to evaluate the differences and evolution trends of digital transformation level in Guangdong Province's manufacturing industry in China. Further the spatial effect has been analyzed based on the selected 5 prefecture level cities as well. In the research period, it was found that the digitalization level showed a gradual upward trend in Guangdong's manufacturing industry, but the growth rate was limited. The relatively stable level of digital innovation application is the main obstacle. In terms of regions, there is a positive spatial autocorrelation in the digital development level of manufacturing industry in the five representative cities of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Zhongshan, and Dongguan, with a nonrandom distribution, reflecting a certain degree of spatial dependence and heterogeneity.
