Rail Transportation Hub Location Planning with Consideration of Passenger Coverage
摘要
Designing the location of a rail transportation hub is a critical and complex task that involves various factors and stakeholders. The process requires careful consideration to ensure that hub effectively serves the needs of passengers under limited budget. The research aim is to determine the optimal location for a rail transportation hub using a multi-objective programming model with the goals of minimizing total transportation costs and maximizing passenger coverage. The proposed model is applied to a case study of rail transportation hub planning in Thailand. The weighted-sum method with normalization is implemented to find optimal solutions, since the values of both objectives are different. The results provide further managerial alternatives to decision-makers in rail transportation planning.
