Personalized Math Learning for Young Learners: Preliminary Findings from a Rigorous Study of a Game-Based Program
摘要
Building a strong foundation to support lifelong learning and success is a broadly recognized goal for early math education. Given the demonstrated benefits of personalized learning, schools and districts seek tools and approaches that engage active learners and enable personalized learning. Game-based adaptive programs provide the opportunity to achieve both goals. A rigorous large-scale study is currently undergoing to examine the efficacy of a highly engaging educational technology innovation targeting early elementary students – My Math Academy. Preliminary findings suggest that the program can be flexibly implemented with adequate fidelity and students’ learning outcome is highly correlated with their activities and performance within the program.
