Who was Sir Alan Parks, What are the Principles of the Parks’ Postanal Repair, and Is There a Place for It in Current Colorectal Surgical Practice?
摘要
The operation of postanal sphincteroplasty (= Parks’ Postanal Repair) was conceived by Sir Alan Parks when he was working in St Marks Hospital, to help women who developed a denervated and dysfunctional anal sphincter, without direct sphincter division through surgery or trauma. It offers some chance of restoring a degree of continence to suffering patients.
