Frailty is the state of being frail, weak, or vulnerable. Physical and mental frailty is the result of a loss of physical and mental function, often due to aging, but sometimes accelerated abnormally because of a variety of factors, including inflammation, malnutrition, chronic diseases, genetic dysfunction, polypharmacy, and psycho-social issues.
