This, final chapter for The Geopolitics of Postdigital Educational Development and Postdigital Education for Development contextualizes the many insights from these two volumes in the light of the futures-oriented volume Postdigital (Re)imaginations: Critiques, Methods, and Interventions. Starting from a brief overview of contemporary capitalism, the chapter identifies the need to develop futures-oriented postdigital educational geopolitics/postdigital educational geopolitics for the future. Showing that current policy frameworks are dominated by capitalist imaginaries, it insists on the development of radically different futures. The battle for future postdigital geopolitical sociotechnical imaginaries implies the development of postdigital Freirean critical consciousness and the importance of critical praxis, culminating in the formation of a postdigital counterhegemonic bloc. The chapter outlines some distinct contributions of postdigital scholarship towards achieving these goals and offers preliminary guidance for futures-oriented postdigital research.
