Building Solidarity Across Borders in the Struggles for Climate Justice
摘要
This chapter describes and reflects upon our efforts to build solidarity towards climate justice. As co-authors of this chapter—two African climate justice activists, a psychologist and a scholar—we reflect on this journey from different social locations. Starting from the assumption that climate justice requires solidarity across borders, we describe our experience of coming together to cultivate solidarity. Inspired by an intersectional climate justice framework and a decolonial community psychology praxis grounded on accompaniment, we examine the actions we have implemented, the challenges we have encountered and the strategies we have used to overcome them. Based on our experiences and efforts, we discuss four main lessons we have learnt that relate to the need for time, resourcing, reflexivity and flexibility when attempting to establish and develop climate justice solidarity across borders.
