Propagation of Sound Waves in Vapor/Gas/Liquid Multiphase Flow

This chapter focuses on the propagation of acoustic wave in liquid containing vapor-gas bubbles. First, four typical acoustic wave propagation models are presented and the effective region is described in detail. Second, the process of solving for wave speed is elaborated. Then, the types and typical characteristics of waves are explained. Finally, the effects of vapor mass fraction, void fraction, and mixed bubble radius on the critical frequency, constant wave speed, and minimum wave speed are specifically analyzed.
