Can economies grow and improve environmental qualities? A positive answer is based on experiences during the last decades with the use of statistical data for all countries, several businesses and households. Subsequent chapters cover the following subjects: diverse economic thoughts about environmental qualities, estimates of environmental impacts and country performances, assessments of societal capabilities for sustainable development, and possibilities for changes of governances in this direction. Those findings end with a summary and conclusions about changes for sustainable development.
