Unlocking student potential requires fostering functional intelligence, while teacher growth hinges on mastering key competencies to support diverse learners. Framing professional expertise as the foundation of effective education, the chapter defines the essence of a competent teacher through five essential competencies: Commanding Presence, Strategic Thinking, Leadership, Instructional Expertise, and Empathetic Connection.
