摘要
This chapter introduces the Educator Competency Quintet, a framework that highlights the reciprocal and cyclical relationship between teaching and learning. Unlocking student potential requires fostering functional intelligence, while teacher growth hinges on mastering key competencies to support diverse learners. Framing professional expertise as the foundation of effective education, the chapter defines the essence of a competent teacher through five essential competencies: Commanding Presence, Strategic Thinking, Leadership, Instructional Expertise, and Empathetic Connection. It concludes with a self-assessment checklist to help educators evaluate their strengths and areas for growth to enhance teaching effectiveness.
