This chapter presents a new vehicle for financing SDGs and implements an exercise in green finance—green bonds. With the prominence of climate change in the public discourse and an increasing number of investment institutions adopting and requiring sustainability disclosures, the bottom line is not just about the returns of the investment, but the basis upon which investments are made. The chapter addresses the whether a green bond offer a viable financing mechanism for environmentally friendly projects and prove beneficial for sustainable development. It also covers the propose promising policy measures that maximize the benefits of green investments in achieving SDGs. Given the prevalence of financial crises, public scepticisms about the market's capacity to deliver the SDGs, and the recent explosion of the market for bonds and other financial instruments tailored to environmentally responsible entities, these are essential concerns today.
