This chapter explores positioning and sensing over radio-frequency (RF) wireless networks. It reviews several key technologies and then introduces a WiFi–based wireless positioning system. Building on the measurement principles and performance metrics introduced earlier, the chapter examines system models, algorithmic strategies, and practical evaluations. In particular, it shows how artificial intelligence (AI) techniques, such as machine learning–based fingerprinting and signal analysis, enhance WiFi positioning accuracy and robustness. By integrating AI with WiFi technologies, the chapter demonstrates how WiFi–based positioning and sensing can provide cost-effective and reliable solutions in real-world environments.
