The Contribution of Students to Sustainable Development: French Experience
摘要
Sustainable development is now at the heart of all debates and the achievement of the 2030 Agenda has made it possible to set the 17 goals to be achieved. The involvement of UN Member States is raising awareness and mobilizing governments and citizens. Local authorities, closer to citizens and in particular students, know their needs and are therefore able to implement actions to help them act. This study aims to explore the involvement of French students in sustainable development on a daily and individual basis as well as the self-assessment of their commitment. The study uses an empirical and convenience sample to quantify student involvement through student actions. The results show that most students are very involved but do not necessarily realize it because they would have trouble self-assessing. This study analyzes the responses of French students to establish links to realize logical observations to highlight the implication that emerges. The study highlights the involvement of students in sustainable development and the self-assessment of this involvement.
