The Use of Lethal Force in El Salvador in a Context of Suspension of Guarantees and Remilitarization
摘要
In recent years, El Salvador has been immersed in a democratic decline due to the suspension of fundamental rights, the centralization of power and a lack of transparency that has made it increasingly difficult to monitor the use of lethal force by state agents. Yet available data allow us to conclude that the reduction of homicides in the country has not been accompanied by a corresponding decrease of use and abuse of lethal force by the Salvadorean State.
