Hand tumors are a common chief complaint in plastic and hand surgery clinics. Hand tumors can occur in the skin, nerves, blood vessels, soft tissues, and bony structures of the hand. With each patient, a thorough history and examination of the hand tumor should be conducted to evaluate the benign or malignant nature of the tumor. Biopsy of the tumor will determine the final diagnosis for further medical or surgical treatment. Potential reconstruction after removal of any hand tumor should be anticipated prior to initial biopsy or surgical treatment of the tumor.
