The brachial plexus is probably the most critical peripheral nervous system complex, as it is the source of all innervation to the upper extremity. There is no redundancy in the neuromuscular system that allows for innervation of the arm if the brachial plexus is injured. Though the anatomy and management may seem complex, approaching brachial plexus injuries in a systematic manner simplifies the approach.
