Compression neuropathies are the most common nerve-related injuries to present to a hand surgeon’s office, as they include carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel. Though the etiology seems simple, they actually present with complex histories, unclear examinations, and variable methodologies of treatment. Understanding the subtleties of evaluating a patient with a compression neuropathy is incredibly important for understanding hand surgery.
