Reliability of the Automatic Electric Heating System for Turnouts
摘要
The research justifies utilizing an automated system for cleaning railway turnouts as a cost-efficient method to prevent ice formation on the upper structures of the track in severe weather conditions. The research includes the outcomes of simulation modeling to identify ice or snow on the monitored surface using the Matlab platform. The conclusion emphasizes the importance of creating an advanced system incorporating sensors to detect ice or snow on the monitored surface. The authors analyzed the main advantages and disadvantages of icing sensors of existing automatic electric heating systems. The structural diagram and the relationships among the stand equipment are presented, along with the sequence of their implementation. Based on the test results, graphs illustrating the dependency of switching on the heater were plotted. The experimental methodology describes the procedures involved, outlining a series of measurement and observation operations. Each operation is thoroughly explained, taking into account the selected methods for conducting the experiment.
