Population Migrations from Poddurmitor Region (Consequences and Alternative Development Paths)
摘要
The municipalities of Žabljak, Šavnik and Plužine in the Durmitor National Park in northern Montenegro have experienced a steady population decline since the Second World War, after which the inhabitants of the rural areas migrated uncontrollably to the larger urban centres due to the rapid industrialization process. The migration of rural population and deagrarization led to almost complete deruralization of the north of Montenegro. The paper discusses issues related to out-migration, but also presents an alternative development model.
