One great joy of cultural manifestation is art—a symbolic and communicative value that connects the viewer’s perspectives, the objects or persons depicted, and the creator. This connection becomes particularly interesting to dialogical science if we add a dynamic component to the art—the depiction of movement. Seemingly, movement as a dynamic act and artistic pieces—static time capsules, do not match in their nature. However, their symbiosis results in an exciting psychological moment, which opens up the ground for a dialogue between the dynamic properties of the image and the projection of the viewer. The important idea of this moment originates in the personal distancing to understanding art pieces, in particular photographs, as static artifacts and opening up to the influence of one’s own mental properties and projections in this matter. Additionally, the aspect of irreversible time which is embedded into movement overall elevates the viewing and analysis of pictures of movement to a higher level: Here we don’t see movement because the image is moving; we see movement because we know that the person in the photograph was moving and because we can project motion into static elements through the capacities of our minds. This idea will take us on a journey of exploration of our minds’ creativity and the incredible possibilities of photography in psychological science.
